At six metres long, Dwarf Allosaur was half the size of its Jurassic cousin yet fossil finds suggest it was still the largest carnivore in the Early Cretaceous period. It may be that the Dwarf Allosaur survived its Jurassic forebear by adapting to a colder climate in the south, becoming smaller and thus needing less energy to survive.
